Cross Dock Manager Interline Brands - Full-time / Part-time

POSITION PURPOSE
As The Cross Dock & Pro Center Location manager, work in conjunction with the IB Transportation Management Team to ensure prompt and efficient flow of products to and from the facility

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Manage the transportation network including selecting/managing relationships with Drivers, routing inbound and outbound freight and developing working relationships with branch operations managers.

• Manage a staff of 25 to 30 drivers and 4 warehouse workers

• Assist in the development of Annual Budget.

• Develop cost models in excel and apply methodology/approach based on various distribution initiatives.

• Interpret, record, research carrier invoices through freight Payment Company to collect and analyze transportation cost data.

• Prepare various monthly reports according to schedule, ad hoc reporting including operational changes to the fleet, service level performance, vehicle utilization, financial data and variances to the budget.

• Recommend process improvements based on report data/root cause analysis.

• Develop strong relationships with Drivers, operations, transportation providers, and Sales to ensure that Interline Brands delivery standards are developed, measured and met.

• Able to participate in customer pick up relationships and help generate an increase in pick up sales.

Reports to National Director of Cross Docks

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Environment:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Additional Minimum Qualifications:

Education Required:  The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 5 years

Physical Requirements:
Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with supply chain systems and tools
• 3 Years Transportation, Distribution Management experience
• Excel spreadsheet database creation high proficiency
• Demonstrated strong analytical skills
• Sense of urgency and ability to follow up are critical skills
• Ability to prioritize, get results and manage details
• Proven initiative and idea generation skills (to use data, apply to analysis and drive results)
• Demonstrated excellent PC skills for quantitative analysis and presentation of information
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
