We are looking for passionate and driven individuals with an affinity for languages and building relationships to join our dynamic inside sales team. Our ideal candidate is a true people-person; someone who loves networking, building relationships, winning new business within a geographic diverse territory and delivering on client expectations. In this capacity you’ll build and maintain relationships with key decision makers, district level coordinators, world language department chairs, and teachers in the K-12 space. As an Inside Sales Specialist you’ll evaluate and report on current market trends in the market, research opportunities, and manage/ grow existing accounts. Our ideal candidate has good consultative-selling, presentation and active listening skills and is able to display a certain level of creativity and flexibility.

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Closing business on a consistent basis to achieve sales quotas in an assigned territory
  • Experience managing and growing a multi-state territory
  • Developing a strong understanding of the specific needs of the schools within your territory
  • Develop strong understanding of our product portfolio and able to articulate the value of different solutions to customers
  • Conducting professional presentations within the territory
  • Establishing good working relationships with educators including both current and potential customers
  • Working effectively with cross-functional counterparts in Sales, Development and Marketing to satisfy our customers’ needs
  • Displaying a digital curiosity and effectively showing how digital solutions can help solve issues
  • Utilize phone and email to conduct a significant amount of business, reserving travel for key situations and presentations. This is a blended job of working effectively inside and outside.
  • Utilizing Salesforce.com to build an effective territory database for analysis and planning
  • Participating in two annual sales meetings

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • BA/ BS degree from a 4 year accredited University or equivalent
  • Must be self-motivated and have 2 -3 years previous sales or sales support experience (experience in publishing is a strong plus)
  • Ability to manage long sales cycles
  • Proficiency in one of the following: French, Spanish, German or Italian (strong plus)
  • Ability to effectively sell/ present to a variety of audiences and contexts (i.e. in person, over the phone, Skype, webinars etc.)
  • Ability to manage the sales process from the ground up (build a pipeline, client research, client relationships and other aspects of sales simultaneously) while managing existing accounts
  • Mastery of negotiation skills; comfortable selling to different personality types
  • Fully developed prospecting skills and consultative sales approach; focused on solution selling
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong territory management skills
  • Focused, strategic, and have a desire to make an impact; you are a “glass half full” thinker
  • Proven sales skills by quota performance
  • A teaching background in foreign language would be an asset
  • Some overnight travel is required, around 20% during the academic year
