Audiology is one of many specialtyclinics within PAMF. Our audiologistswork closely with ENT but maintain complete autonomy over our practices. There are 8 audiology locations with between 1 and 6 providers at each location. There is strong collaboration with ourcolleagues across locations and specialties. Providers regularly meet to review workflows, policy and protocols, aswell as share product updates and interesting cases.

We provide complete diagnostictesting services, including newborn hearing testing, basic vestibularassessments and auditory processing testing, in addition to dispensing hearingaids for all ages and community education. We have an otologist that startedrecently and we will be expanding the scope of services we provide to includecochlear implants.

We are looking for providers thatwill excel in a fast paced environment working with a variety of populationsand conditions. Schedules areflexible. Sign-on bonus available.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Audiologist plans, conducts and interprets audiology evaluation for patients. He/She determines patients' hearing level and most likely site of damage to auditory system, anticipates degree of social disability resulting from hearing loss and predicts potential benefits of hearing aid used and/or special training.

Principal Accountabilities

* Provide diagnostic information and patient counseling related to vestibular and hearing disorders along with subsequent rehabilitation and recommendation.

* Obtains relevant patienthistory including information obtained from patients and their families,pertinent medical record progress notes, and consultations with appropriatephysicians, speech pathologists and other relevant clinical professionals

* Plans, conducts, interprets,and communicates results from various tests to determine a patient's hearingthresholds, middle ear function, and/or other auditory or vestibularfunctioning. Testing to be conducted according to established protocols.

* Refers to ENT or otherappropriate clinician when indicated and according to scope of practice.

* Recommends appropriate auralrehabilitation therapies to include hearing aids, assistive devices andcommunication strategies as appropriate. Provide ongoing follow up care forpatients with hearing aids to ensure appropriate hearing aid selection,orientation, hearing aid settings and appropriate use of devices

* Participates in continuingeducation to maintain up to date knowledge of research findings, testingprotocols and standards of care. Maintain current knowledge of a variety ofhearing aid models and benefits for specific patient populations.

* Performs other departmentalduties including proper documentation, billing procedures, addressing patientcorrespondence (verbal or written), meeting attendance per manager's request,and miscellaneous duties as assigned

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education, including Licensure, Certification/Registration

* Masters or Doctoral Degree in Audiology

* Current State of California Audiologist License

* Current BLS required

Experience

* Two (2) years experience as an audiologist

* California Hearing Aid Dispensing License
