Position Title: Principal Technical Professional - Mechanical

Position Description

KBR is seeking a Principal Technical Professional - Mechanical. Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

* Under general supervision the PTP independently applies engineering techniques, makes decisions on engineering problems/methods, and represents the organization. The PTP performs as a project discipline lead and is consulted by others with a reliance placed on scientific interpretations and advice. Responsibilities include piping & pipe support design, drawing and calculation checks, pipe specification, materials selection, and generation of related calculations involving fluid flow, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and statics. More specific calculations include stress analysis (using Caesar II Software), ASME code wall thickness, beam formulas, pipe sizing, and pump sizing calculations. Job tasks will impact cost containment, efficiency, profitability and operations. Job role is responsible for a measurable asset such as an assigned staff and budget. Minimal travel to job sites is required. Must be able to climb ladders/stairs and perform on site design work at industrial facilities. A working knowledge of ASME B31.1, B31.3, Sect. VIII is required. A PE or FE is preferred, but not required. Pulp & Paper experience preferred, but not required.

Requirements

* Skills are typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in Engineering and a minimum of 7 years related experience, with average experience ranging from 10 years.
