Job Purpose: Leads the implementation logistics work processes, disciplines and technology for the Americas region in order to execute the commercial strategy. Advises and consults on ways logistics may improve the Americas supply chain design in order to enhance execution of the business strategy. Supports the organizational goal of achieving optimum contracts pricing and terms for logistics contracts for rail, truck (3PL), barge, and terminals, working in tandem with the Purchasing Department. The role will also identify potential improvement opportunities for supply chain efficiencies through cost effectiveness. The Logistics Contract Manager has a lead role in collaborating with other functions, (i.e. Purchasing, Commercial, EH&S, and Finance) to define and meet our logistics needs.   Principal Accountabilities: Logistics Excellence Leads and provides logistics technology and expertise for logistics leadership teams, business supply chain teams, and business supply chain optimization projects. Identifies solutions, initiatives, and tools to optimize supply chain cost and efficiency. Recognized as an expert on logistics services, standards, operational activities and performance capabilities. Regularly consults with commercial and Supply Chain leaders, and other functional leaders in that regard. Sourcing Support Works with functional leaders to specify contract requirements for logistics services secured through parties on behalf of the business. Support the development, Implementation and communication of all activities related to sourcing logistics services activities for North and South America. Manage existing logistic contract relationships. Measure and drive value from each contract. Market Analysis and Ongoing benchmarking Analyze each service area through continuous monitoring and analysis of industry information. Monitor service provider activity for optimum performance.   Additional Accountabilities: Maintains external benchmarking metrics. Assists in the Development of the Annual Logistics Budget. Develops & Implements Supply Chain Reports. Leads and assists Ad Hoc Projects. Facilitate/direct system data entry and validation for freight rates and other relevant contract terms. Manage, participate and lead regional logistics projects that support growth objectives, cost reductions, operational efficiency improvements and strategic sourcing initiatives.   Knowledge, Skills and Experience: University Degree in a discipline demonstrating logical thinking or computational skills (Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, Mathematics and certain sciences) APICS CPIM Certification (or equivalent) or strong commitment to attain within 1-2 years. Minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience, typically including experience in Logistics Purchasing, Contract Management, Supply Chain Operations, and/or Logistics Implementation Projects. Advanced Microsoft Office skills and working knowledge of SAP is preferred. Why Kelly®?
