We are currently seeking an experienced Purchasing/Inventory Specialist in the San Antonio, TX area for 1st Shift!!! Candidates who meet the job requirements below are encouraged to apply for immediate consideration.
Hours of Work: 8:00am to 5:00pm (Monday-Friday) with some flexibility on hours
Pay: $16.00-$18.00 an hour
**This is a 1 year contract assignment with potential for perm**
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify vendors and obtain quotes on production orders.
Prepare purchase orders for manufacturing department, enter into FishBowl ERP system.
Work with vendors to provide drawings, specifications, and other information needed.
Monitor outstanding purchase orders for delivery timeline.
Address delays, overage, and underage with vendors.
Provide updates on component delivery status to the rest of BME team.
Analyze frequency of orders, best order size, and options for storing inventory at vendor location.
Address supplier quality issues by working with BME Supplier Quality and clarifying timeline for resolution.
Standard hours of 8 am – 5 pm, but flexible.
Availability to work overtime when needed.
All other duties as assigned.
Required Training at BME:
FishBowl
Quality System Training (CFR 21 820)
Education and Experience:
Relevant experience in purchasing and inventory control.
College degree in relevant field preferred.
Excellent communication skills and enthusiastic demeanor
Good computer skills, and knowledgeable of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Physical Requirements:
Requires standing for sustained periods of time on occasion
Needing to walk about to accomplish tasks, moving from one work site to another
Expressing or exchanging ideas verbally, able to communicate clearly to other employees and to vendors
Able to hear at normal speaking levels, with or without correction
Typing or otherwise, working primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm
Making repetitive motions of the wrist, hand and/or fingers
Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time and may lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds
Requires close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures
