This is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door with a growing company!Position(s): Composite LaminatorLocation: Bellingham WAHours: 8am-5pm Mon-FriRate of Pay: $12/hr - $13/hrLength: Temp-to-hireEssential Duties and Responsibilities- Carry out tool preparation (clean and apply release agent).- Kitting and lay-up operation; (cutting kit of materials for build sequence, warp and weft. Layup material onto mold surface with correct orientation and build sequence).- Understanding material shelf life and out time.- Vacuum bagging techniques (manufacturer breather, bag material kit).- Cure operations to agreed engineering methods and processes using various plant and process equipment (heated platen presses, ovens, vacuum pumps).- Supports and conforms to quality procedures to maintain compliance, by ensuring adherence to the defined processes and procedures.- Works with team to identify and drive productivity and performance improvement opportunities to support cost reductions.- Understands, works within, and contributes to the continuous improvement of safety, health and environment requirements; adheres to all safety policies, reports safety and risk hazards.Qualifications- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions- Skill in performing mid-level math skills efficiently and accurately (including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fraction and decimals).- Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to the composites and or aerospace industry.- Skill in using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers and other inspection gauges.- Skill in reading and interpreting documents such as work orders, drawings, internal and customer specifications, manuals, and safety regulations.- Ability to identify, organize, estimate, and recognize differences or similarities with excellent- attention to detail.- Ability to communicate information clearly and directly co-workers and supervisory personnel both verbally and in writing.- Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.Education/Experience- High school diploma or equivalent- Composite laminating, with particular experience in pre-preg layup a plus!Physical Demands/Work EnvironmentThe physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
