Job DescriptionReceives orders from customers and schedules delivery of construction materials such as asphalt, sand or gravel. Assures that correct products and quantities are delivered in a timely manner. Maintains records of daily production orders and processes accounts payable and receivable.ESSENTIAL JOB ACCOUNTABILITIESReceives and coordinates job orders for asphalt, sand or gravel products. Schedules and dispatches trucks to deliver materials efficiently and economically.Responds to customer questions and concerns by phone and in person to maintain good customer relations.Weighs trucks to ensure that material is correct and the right weight.Prepares daily sales reports and other miscellaneous reports as needed.Computes accounts receivable to assure accuracy of cash sales and receipts. Must check equipment prior to starting up, clean scales, office equipment, order office supplies. Position will be on call for all railroad needs.In general this facility requires someone who is self sufficient. Other duties may be assigned as required. RequirementsMust possess excellent knowledge of paving and construction materials, plant capabilities, mix designs, as well as truck capabilities and transportation requirements and regulations is required. Must have intermediate computers skills and have the ability to utilize different computer systems to record information and create reports. Must be skilled in providing excellent customer service by phone and in person and have the ability to make basic mathematical computations, schedule and organize large numbers of people and equipment efficiently and quickly, and read maps and communicate effectively with customers as well as truckers. Must be able to work independently and make decisions; memorize and recall detailed information; handle multiple tasks concurrently; work well under pressure; and handle a high volume of calls. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High School graduation or its equivalent is required. Three (3) to five (5) years experience that has included dispatching, sales, customer relations and construction/transportation is required.
