Job DescriptionPOSITION TITLE: Victim Advocate I DESCRIPTION: This successful candidate must act as the primary support for victims & witnesses and provide guidance during the criminal justice process. This candidate will attend meetings, hearings, trials, and provide counseling referrals and assistance per statute 960. Perform all related work as required. Hours may vary depending on court cases. Candidate must be able to work flexible schedule when necessary. This candidate must also be willing to complete a 40 hour Victim Service Practitioner Course. Travel and assignments in other offices within the circuit is a possibility for coverage purposes. Must be bilingual. Requirements The applicant must have a general knowledge of the Criminal Justice System, and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to work independently and utilize problem solving techniques.
