Job DescriptionAre you looking for a great opportunity? Kelly Services is seeking a 3rd Shift Set-Up Operator for one of it's customer. This is a DIRECT HIRE opportunity. Duties and Responsibilities:- Reads and interprets blueprints, shop orders and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) sheets to establish work responsibilities.- Sets-up and operates CNC machine to machine plastic parts according to specifications, tooling, instructions and standards charts applying knowledge of machine methods.- Performs multiple set-up and changeovers. Selects positions and secures tool in tool holder (chuck, collet, or tool post) and makes proper settings on controls or fabricate plastic parts.- Has knowledge and ability to edit programs to improve cycle times.- Positions and secures work piece in holding devise, machine table, chuck, centers or fixtures using clamps and wrenches.- Uses calipers, and tape measure to ensure parts are in compliance with work order and print.- Works in a safety conscious manner ensuring safety of self and others and operates machinery in accordance with Job Safety Analysis (JSA) requirements.- Records steps in production process (i.e. time, counts, operation/shop order numbers, materials used, visual and dimensional characteristics).- Works in cooperative manner with external customers and with Team members to improve quality and performance of team. - Identifies, resolves and/or communicates job or machine problems.- Ensures materials (pieces), secondary operation equipment and IN and OUT scrap containers are staged.- Maintains safe and clean work area.- Performs Preventative Maintenance as required. - Instructs or trains others on machining techniques.- Applies knowledge and experience and makes process or improvement recommendations on jobs. - Perform other tasks as assigned.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend written work order and simple instructions, standard shop rules and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate ideas to other employees. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to read blue prints, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, fractions, and decimals. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: These physical demands are representative must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The physical demands of this position require considerable use of the employee-s arms and legs and movement of the entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, stooping and handling materials. Employee is regularly required to stand and reach with hands and arms; occasionally required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear; regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is expected to seek assistance when lifting or moving anything is excess of 70 pounds. The word lift as it is used here means the direct physical movement of something such as lift and carry without assistance, not the conveyance or movement by merely pushing or pulling of something. Move may involve the use of conveyance equipment to bring products to a platform where the employee will then push or pull the product onto a shelf. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. -Occasionally- means up to 1/3 of the work day; -frequently- means 1/3 to 2/3 of the work day; and -Routinely- means 2/3 or more of the work day.WORK ENVIRONMENT - The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.
