Purchasing Manager - Supply Chain - Position Summary: Purchasing Manager It is the responsibility of the Production Control Planner/ Buyer to plan and purchase material requirements for assigned projects based on sales orders and manufacturing needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Troubleshoot material shortages and manage shortage reports. Releasing job orders job closing analysis. Scheduling check for capacity issues and feedback to Planning Supervisor. Maintaining min/max levels of required and projected material. Work with all internal, cross-functional groups to ensure targeted ship dates are achieved. Assist in materials projects as designated by Planning Supervisor. Establishes a network of franchised and non-franchised vendors, including factory direct, to obtain maximum material cost savings and return flexibility. Daily placement and expediting of all purchase orders for manufacturing material requirements. Works with vendors to establish competitive pricing for custom products. Works with Supply Chain to ensure competitive pricing for franchised products. Responsible for inventory levels. Works with the Receiving department to solve receipt discrepancies. Responds to resolve all invoice discrepancies presented by Accounting. Develop new procurement strategies. This position requires the use of initiative and independent judgment. Ability to multi-task within a fast-paced environment, under minimal supervision and to maintain a sense of urgency when meeting customer OTD. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities: Epicor software or any MRP driven manufacturing operation software. Detailed oriented. Problem solving skills. Enthusiasm, initiative and pride in work. Interact positively with others. Conscientious. Consistent ongoing employee communication. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalency. Bachelor s degree preferred. 4 years of production control planning and purchasing. Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures. Excellent written and communication skills. Proficient knowledge of Windows, with emphasis on Excel. High Mix / Low Volume planning experience preferred. Recent Planning or scheduling background within a manufacturing environment. Why Kelly®?
