Production Manager (Cheese Manufacturing)

Every day, Kelly Scientific Resources connects scientific professionals with opportunities to advance their careers, and we currently have a direct-hire opening for a Production Manager (cheese manufacturing) north of Eau Claire, Wisconsin.  The Production Manager will serve as manager for all hard cheese production functions, including: intake, Pasteurization, Make Room, Brine, Cure, Cleaning, Packaging and Relief. Responsibilities: Lead the people and processes involved in cheese production Meet production demands and schedules Support new product development Ensure cheese specification and quality standards are met and orders fulfilled Partner/Collaborate with Quality, Sanitation and Shipping departments throughout the manufacturing process Lead and motivate employees through change and challenges Serve as manager over department supervisors, giving work direction, mentorship and guidance Perform managerial functions: employee scheduling, performance management, responding to employee questions and concerns, work direction, ensuring safe work practices, accident/incident reporting, etc. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Dairy Science or other related field 10 years’ experience working within a cheese manufacturing facility 7 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role, with at least 3 years of experience in a senior leadership role, with supervisors as direct reports Strong communication and leadership skills   Salary Target: $90K/year plus 10% bonus (relocation assistance offered) Due to this being a production opportunity, must be able to work more than a 40 hour week.  Must be available by phone if something goes wrong at the plant during off hours.
