Job DescriptionPay Rate: Contract PR:1st Shift: $11.00hr, 2nd & 3rd Shift- $11.50hr includes 50 cents Shift differential. Location: Bunge Sandston, VAReport To: Shift SupervisorSummary: Responsible for the day-to-day operation of assigned lines including operating all machinery, maintaining quality and production standards, as well as all necessary reporting in that assigned area. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 1) Undergo direct training on the operation of all machinery needed for the effective operation of the assigned area. 2) Safely operate all machinery for each line to which they are assigned. 3) Monitor the quality of the product being produced to include but not be limited to the following: a. Maintaining proper product weights by performing needed weight checks and recording results, graphing results, and making necessary adjustments to keep weights in specifications.b. Ensure the product is of the proper color as compared to the sample approved by QA.c. Ensure the product texture is correct.d. Ensure the product is properly covered when needed.e. Check for a legible and correct code date on both the packaging and shipping case.4) Use of the proper packaging label to specifications provided. Accurately report production to include any lot control information, scrap product or holds processed.5) Keep work area clean.6) Process scrap product whenever possible.7) Follow GMP-s at all times.8) Ensure all finished product is placed in the correct storage area.9) Ensure all unused packaging is wrapped or sealed before returning to the warehouse. Labels are to be placed in the proper place. Ensures Please stock is combined to minimize open containers/boxes. 10) Perform machine size changeovers ensuring all packaging is readily available well before the time of the changeover. 11) Monitor the work performance and breaks of all hand-packer employees or palletizers assigned to the area area.12) Maintain communication with the Shift Supervisor/Manager. Follow any additional instructions provided.13) Perform end of the week plant sanitation as assigned.14) Assist the Team Leader in monitoring the quality of product and packaging.15) Help the Team Leader give breaks in the assigned area.16) Perform a thorough turnover to the oncoming Machine Operator at the end of the shift including any special instructions, numbers remaining on the present order, and any continuing difficulties.17) Communicate upcoming changeovers with the Panel Operator.18) Lead individuals assigned to them for special tasks.19) Any additional tasks assigned to them by Supervisors or members of Management. RequirementsQualifications: 1) Must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D.2) Ability to run machinery in a safe and efficient manner.3) Have the necessary technical skills such as basic mathematics and mechanical skills, and be able to prioritize and experience to provide guidance, direction, and training for the less experienced operators.4) Able to communicate with co-workers, Supervisors, and Managers.Training Requirements: Food Safety, Food Security, Safety, HACCP as it applies to the assigned area, Pallet Jack Training and, pass a written and practical Operator test prior to promotion. Physical Demands: Able to lift 78 pounds approximately once every 2 hours, and lift 50 pounds or less repeatedly for ten hours and be able to remain standing 100% of the shift. SQF Requirements: Training (Orientation & Safety-5 hours), Documentation, Verification, HACCPSafety Requirements: Must Wear Waffle Sole Bottom Steel Toe Boots or Shoes with the Slip Resistant Bottom. You will be provided a Hard Hat, Safety Goggles, Head/ Beard Covering. Must wear pants for QA Regulations.
