Job DescriptionEmployee is responsible for inspection of parts utilizing CMM-s, height gauges and any other gauges in the Inspection Room and the shop floor. The employee will need to be able to interpret the inspection results utilizing a print and relay the information, and if needed, make corrective recommendations to other employees. The employee will also participate in the calibration process, internal audit process, ISIR process, and be proficient with the usage of a computer.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.1. Analyzes inspection problems by comparing part with prints and work instructions necessary to measure specified dimensions.2. Ensures parts are meeting necessary requirements by testing surface finish of machined parts and the hardness of metal parts.3. Analyzes defective parts to determine reasons for dimensional variations such as faulty machining, or assembly work instructions, setup, tools, or fixtures. Works with supervisor and/or production process to communicate and troubleshoot problems.4. Inspects machining or assembly fixtures, tools, or gauges, and suggests replacement or use of new equipment.5. Guides subsequent machining by measuring, marking, and scribing dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece.6. Communicates the inspection results back to operators/QIS.ACCOUNTABILITY: The employee is accountable to the Quality Engineer or the Quality Improvement Specialist.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.* The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.* While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
