Mechanical Assembly - Production

Job DescriptionKelly Services is looking for multiple production workers for a fitness equipment manufacture in Woodinville. This person would be responsible for performing general production duties ranging from performing repetitive bench/line assembly operations to operating machines to carry out various tasks. General production employees rotate from station-to-station during the 10-hour shift. Hours: 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Mon - Thu)This person would have the ability to:- Anticipate, identify, and resolve problems in a timely manner- Effectively communicate ideas- Listen to others and appropriately act on information provided- Read and understand written instructions, department paperwork & safety information- Perform basic math- Operate hand tools and equipment such as: cone or nozzle-type electrostatic painting equipment, supported air tools, portable power tools, hand tools, bench-top presses, arbor presses, hoists, wheeled carts & bins, pallet jacks and other material handling equipment- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment and keep up with time-sensitive operations- Work effectively in an team environment- Act in a courteous and professional manner at all times- Comply with Attendance Policy.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSMechanical Assembly- Places parts in specified relationship to each other. Bolts, clips, screws, taps, presses or otherwise fastens parts together using supported portable air tools (tool balancers), power and hand tools.- May tend machines, such as arbor presses and small scale, dual-palm initiated, hydraulic presses to perform fitting or fastening operations on assembly line.- Operates various portable hand, power and air tools, i.e., screw drivers, wrenches, sockets, calipers, clamping devices, grinders, hand drills, belt sanders.- Rotates to different work stations as assigned.Assembly is conducted on a moving assembly line and each task must be performed under an established time frame (generally 2-4 minutes for multiple stations). Boxing- Folds and staples boxes in preparation for boxing unit.- Visually inspects entire unit for defects or damage. Cleans unit using rags and non-hazardous cleaning materials. - Lifts unit from assembly line or worktable to bottom half of box to prepare unit for shipping. - Places literature and hardware kits in box and tapes or binds unit pieces.- Places top half of box into place over unit; uses air gun stapler to staple box together.- Places serial number label unit and on box and records serial number using barcode scanner.- Moves box to pallet and when pallet is full, bands or shrink wraps whole pallet.- Moves pallet to staging area or into semi-trailer using pallet jack Painting- Prepares work pieces for painting by masking/covering select holes, openings and areas with small rubber plugs and masking material.- Loads/unloads mild steel and aluminum work pieces and parts from bins and carts onto/off conveyor that carries them through paint wash and spraying operations. - Inspects painted work pieces for runs, sags, and unpainted areas. Readjusts pressure valves to control direction and pattern of spray and to correct flaws in coating. Performs other duties as assignedExperience:- Minimum one year manufacturing experience (preferably in assembly)WORKING ENVIRONMENT- Work is performed indoors in a heated modern factory space. Ambient working temperature may range from 55 F - 100 F, depending on season. Work area is clean and free from wet, slippery conditions.- Employee required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection and gloves.- Potential hazards may include working with moving parts (machines guarded per OSHA rules), nip points, material handling, sharp edges on stock, flying particles, nuisance dust, lifting, repetitive motions (upper extremities), and moderate noise exposure (70-90 db, hearing protection provided).PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
