POSITION OVERVIEW:
The CNC Machinist/Programmer position will be responsible for simple to complex set-ups and operation of CNC equipment running multiple machines to maximize efficiency, edit programs, tooling maintenance, assist with training, and ensure that all required processes are completed to product parts that meet quality and ISO standards, as well as programming new parts or materials per drawing, specification as needed.
Essential Duties and responsibilities:
Setup and operate CNC mills and routers with some programming duties. Primary duties include but are not limited to the following:
Read and interpret blueprints, parts lists, and other associated engineering information
Machine parts out of foam, plastic and composites
Working knowledge of GD&T and aerospace quality standards
Inspect parts thoroughly by accurately interpreting blueprints and using precision measuring tools
Trouble shooting machine, fixtures, programming, or tooling problems
Ability to inspect 1st run parts
Ability to maintain all required dimensions using standard inspection equipment
Ability to edit programs when required
Ability to follow quality standards for ISO9001 and AS9100
Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment
Train, assist and support co-workers in producing quality parts and in completing all process requirements.
Assure all policies and procedures are followed and safety precautions are taken to reduce the risk of injury.
Maintain a clean work area and assure safe operation of all equipment.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Technical Degree, or BA/BS in related field is a plus
Minimum 1 year experience operating CNC milling equipment
Working knowledge of Mastercam version X or later
Familiarity with G-code
Familiarity with FANUC Controls
Proficient at completing complex setups with little to no supervision
Proficient at diagnosing tooling and setup problems
Must be detailed orientated, have strong math skills, be a team player and have excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of coaching and training others
