Job DescriptionThe Fork Truck Mechanic is responsible for ensuring that the facility's material handling equipment, (electric forklifts, electric carts and floor scrubbing equipment), is repaired and maintained in a timely manner.Essential Functions:1) Active participation in safety meetings. Maintains safety work practices as defined by the Company.2) Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to electronically and computer controlled automated equipment, utility equipment, facilities, etc.3) Remove, repair and replace motors, pumps, drive unit and brake systems.4) Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.5) Change tires.6) Use welding equipment.7) Complete daily work logs with detailed information on a timely basis.8) Ensure that work orders and monthly PM's are completed as required.RequirementsHigh School graduate3 years of fork truck repair maintenance (with at least 2 of those years in electric forklift repair/maintenance).Excellent working knowledge of hand and power tools.Ability to perform all types of repair and preventative maintenance on various lift trucks.Ability to safely and effectively use welding equipment and diagnostic/calibration equipment.Must be able to work in a team environment.2 year trade school preferred.Must be able to respond immediately to down equipment.Have the ability to regularly lift 50 lbs.Have the ability to regularly climb extension, roof, and stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during the shift.
