Quality Technician (Strongsville, Ohio)
Client located in Strongsville, Ohio is currently hiring a Quality Technician to manage design, validation and quality processes related to Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP’s). The Quality Technician will work closely with clients and Supplier Quality Engineers to gather and complete complex documentation according to AIAG and customer PPAP standards. They will also communicate this information to customers and work with them to obtain approval on new parts.
This position is a Contract to Hire role with leader in labeling solutions for the automotive and non-automotive areas.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create a product quality plan for developing and manufacturing products that meet customer requirements following APQP and PPAP methodologies
Inspect and measure part samples to ensure quality product
Understand customer requirements and demonstrate that products are in compliance
Complete PPAP documentation as required by AIAG and customer standards
Gather information and documentation from engineering, quality, and program launch teams to assemble PPAP package
Submit PPAP documents to customers and work with them to obtain approval on new parts
Handle customer requests for update or revalidation of existing part documentation
Work with manufacturing and quality teams to identify and correct defects in production runs
Manage deadlines and regularly communicate status to managers and customers
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent required; associates or higher level degree preferred
At least 3 years’ experience in quality, preferably in the automotive or related industry
Experience with APQP and /PPAP control procedures (Inspection Data, Part Submission Warrants (i.e., Levels 1-5, PPAP Flow Charts, PPAP Control Plans, etc.)
Experience with PPAP and FMEAs; failure mode-potential effects (failure-potential causes-current process controls-recommended actions and responsibility-actions taken with severity, class, occurrence, detection and R.P.N. structure).
Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 9001 or TS 16949 preferred
Ability to read technical drawings and engineering specifications
Proficiency with Microsoft Office required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize various tasks
Required experience:
Quality from an OEM Manufacturing Environment: 3 years
Quality standards such as ISO 9001 or TS 16949 preferred
PPAP documentation
Advanced product quality planning (or APQP) framework procedures and technique knowledge
