McCoy Freightliner is hiring for a Service Advisor/Foreman position at our Salem/Brooks location:

Tuesday – Friday day shift service advisor – 7am to 4pm

Saturday Foreman – 6am to 4:30pm

SUMMARY: Schedule and sell service work in the service department. Since every sale begins and ends with the Service Writer, the Service Writer will follow each repair from start to finish including all communication with the customer through out the repair. The Service Writer will be assigned to a team consisting of a Foreman and technicians.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

Greet customers in a timely, friendly manner and obtain and record accurate vehicle information.

Handle telephone inquiries regarding appointments and work in process.

Write up customer’s vehicle problems accurately and clearly on repair order and dress customer’s vehicle with appropriate key tag and seat cover.

Obtain customer and vehicle data prior to arrival when possible.

Obtain customers method of payment including PO’s.

Fax estimates to those customers who require them prior to giving a PO or authorization.

Refer to service history, open repair orders and input labor codes along with basic trouble shooting SRT’s and warranty codes.

Research Service Point Tech Queue for their team technicians availability and pre-assign the RO to the next available technician that is most qualified for the repair.

Ask customer at which point they would like us to contact them with an update incase the repair or diagnosis takes longer than anticipated. Log that time line discussed in Service Point Shop Pad.

Place RO hard card in assigned technician’s slot with properly tagged keys noting specifically where the truck is parked.

Track all inbound work to insure that all repairs are started within 2 hrs of arriving and communicate any jobs that have not started in the 2 hrs to the Service Shop Supervisor immediately.

Once diagnosis has taken place, the Foreman will give the Service Writer a complete and accurate written cost estimate (soft quote) for labor with SRT’s and parts. The Service Writer will call the customer and obtain authorization to complete the repairs based on the information from the quote and document the conversation in Service Point Shop Pad. After quoting the original complaint(s), all 13 Point and Vis Check items will be discussed and quoted to the customer as well.

Communicates any issues or requests from the customer to the Foreman after documenting same in Service Point Shop Pad.

Follows up with Foreman to insure that the time discussed with the customer is on target through out the repair.

Review invoice for accuracy of pricing and ensure that machine charges, gear oil and sublet repairs are properly billed on the invoice.

Notify the customer that the job is complete with a final invoice for pricing.

Responsible for selling available time in the tech queue based on hours available per day per tech in Service Point. The daily goal is the time available.

Keep service department forms, menus and pricing guides up-to-date.

Maintain high customer satisfaction standards (CSI) and insure that we score a 9 or higher in the SPE Customer Surveys specifically Customer Communication.

Ability to multi-task under pressure.

Must be a team player.
