Executive Chef
We are seeking a qualified Executive Chef to be a "leader of the food" here at Lareau Farm, home of the original American Flatbread. The successful candidate will have 3-5 years experience in restaurant and catering kitchens with a focus on purchasing from local, organic and sustainable sources and creating seasonal menus that highlight local ingredients. Simple, delicious, seasonal food is a must and use of our wood-fired cookery (smoker, grills and oven) is just part of the fun!
Qualifications:
- Create business relationships with local producers & farmers
- Food leadership: design & develop menus for wedding and event business, weekly restaurant specials, seasonal prix fixe dinner menus
- Develop recipes, food standards and training tools for kitchen staff
- Oversee purchasing and inventory
- Maintain food and labor costs
- Commitment to excellence of food quality and customer experience
- Assists with implementation of required and recommended training certifications for staff such as HAACP, Serv Safe, or culinary techniques for all food handlers

Lareau Farm is a 25-acre farm located along the Mad River in scenic Waitsfield, VT. We operate a 13-bedroom B&B, host weddings & events, operate an offsite catering wood fired oven, and are home to the original American Flatbread restaurant, serving farm to table flatbread baked in an earthen wood fired oven.

- Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends and occasional overnights.

- Minimum 5 years of restaurant and/or catering kitchen management
- Minimum of 2 years maintaining an inventory and food purchasing system- Knowledge and experience working with local farms
- Knowledge of farm to plate seasonal menus
- BA in Culinary Arts or Industry Apprenticeship
