Job Overview:
Team of 8 people hired to assist Macy’s Parade Studio with the installation and removal of the Christmas Light Show. Set up of show is a 4-5 night installation-taking place after store hours (example of hrs; 8:00pm to 4:00am). Load out will take place over 3 nights. Again all work takes place after store hours.
Essential Functions:
• Assist Parade Studio with installation of show props
• Truss & rigging
• Heavy lifting may be required
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
• Construction experience preferred
• Theater tech experience preferred
Communication Skills:
• Knowledge of a second language helpful
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Mathematical Skills:
• Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
Reasoning Ability:
• Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Must be able to multitask in a fast paced environment
• Present a professional image consistent with Macy's brand values
Physical Demands:
• Instillation, setup and construction of props
• Ability to lift heavy object 75lbs+
Other Skills:
• Background in event or theater production.
• Physically fit with an ability to lift 75lbs
Work Hours:
• Flexible with scheduling and available to work retail hours which may include day, evening, weekends and/or holidays
