What is my job:

Our Pricing department ensures the best pricing communication tools are in place for employees to assist our customers. In this area, you’ll provide incredible service by ensuring all items, displays and end caps are properly and accurately signed throughout the store. How do I make a difference?

  • Providing Incredible, Knowledge  Based Customer Service
  • Ensure all departments have accurate, well-maintained price tags and signs on shelves and displays
  • Share knowledge about regulations with overnight team and properly communicate signage and tag needs to the pricing office to reduce the amount of errors on the floor
  • Form relationships and maintain open lines of communication with outside product vendors, handling any signage issues and ensuring displays are signed and comply with state and Wegmans regulations
  • Ensuring High Quality Products & Ingredients

    • Ensure the correct price tags and sales signs are hung throughout the store, verify commodity codes during ordering to ensure accurate information is printed
    • Order, print and laminate all signs for Dairy, Frozen Foods and Grocery departments, being sure to hang signs in correct locations in accordance with state and Wegmans regulations
    • Fill department orders, print price tags on a timely basis and assist with any other signage needs throughout the department to ensure information is accurately communicated to customers
    • Correctly hang new price tags, sale signs and end caps signs, ensuring all old signs are down, new ones are up and correct sale information is on display by 8am Sunday morning
    • Perform monthly store pricing audits to ensure verification of UPL tags to store scanning data

  • Basic computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)

What skills, learnings, and experiences are preferred and will set me apart? 

  • Customer service experience, preferably in a food service, grocery or retail setting
  • Able to problem solve, anticipating, analyzing, and identifying problems, responding quickly when situations arise and preventing problems when possible
  • Possess delegation skills and clearly communicate expectations in a positive way, assess employees' abilities when assigning tasks and follow-up to ensure their completion

 

Work environment: 

  • Work includes prolonged standing for up to 4 hours without a break, walking, repetitive and sustained hand and arm movements including sustained grasping, occasional heavy lifting, bending, and reaching, along with interaction with customers and co-workers. The average weight range of items lifted is 5-12 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of 40 pounds occasionally. Work may also include travel to various stores include competitors’ stores. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction)
