Job Summary:

Welcomes guests and offers a variety of services which includes registration and assignment of guest rooms, posting of guest room charges and collection of payments on guest room accounts. Responsible for handling guest mail, messages and information by performing the following duties:

Essential job functions:

* Greets, registers, and assign rooms to guests in a courteous and efficient manner. Issues room key and escort instructions to Bell Person.

* Date stamps, sorts, and racks incoming mail and messages.

* Performs task outlines on daily checklist.

* Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel services, registration of guests, shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions.

* Directs or escorts guest to various facilities and functions in the hotel.

* Keeps records of room availability and guests' accounts.

* Computes bill, collects payment, and makes change for guests.

* Makes changes, and confirms reservations using the Lodging Management Systems.

* Posts charges such as room, food, liquor, or telephone to ledger.

* Other duties as assigned.

Physical, Mental & Environmental Demands:

* Ability to continuously stand and maneuver in confined area.

* Ability to clean and stock stations.

* Ability to acknowledge, greet and converse in English with customers.

* Clear speaking ability, able to communicate with guest in noisy environment.

* Respond to visual and oral signals. Ability to use color monitors on computer screens.

* Address concerns and questions.

* Ability to frequently push or pull 5 lbs.

* Ability to frequently lift 40 lbs to change paper in printers.

* Ability to continually stand entire shift.

* Ability to work in hot or cold environment (heating or air conditioning).

* Ability to give friendly, excellent service.

* Ability to tolerate area's containing secondary smoke.

* Ability to process cash transactions accurately.

Qualifications:

Qualification Requirements:

* High school diploma or equivalent required.

* Excellent customer service skills required.

* Three to six months related experience and/or training preferred.

* Strong interpersonal skills required.

* Types 25-30 words per minute.
