About this job

The impact of technology has fundamentally evolved and in some cases transformed almost every consumer segment with groceries / consumables being the next space that both external experts and large players (e.g., Amazon, Walmart, Alibaba) are betting on. As a result, eCommerce is one of the fastest-growing areas within the consumer products industry and represents a significant opportunity (and potential threat) for PepsiCo across geographies.

To ensure we win in this space we have established a dedicated eCommerce group, bringing together world class talent across F&B, digital, and key customers. While tied closely to broader PepsiCo, the eCommerce group has a unique start-up feel and defined values that embrace a more entrepreneurial mindset: bias for action; results oriented; community-focused; prioritization of people.

Strategy is a critical component of this new organization. To meet our aggressive growth targets and compete effectively against start-ups and/or technology competitors requires a step-change in our thinking and the way that we approach strategy. Given the nuances in F&B evolution across key regional markets, tailoring our approach to win in each respective context is also critical.

The role of Sr. Analyst Strategy is a critical one for the team. By working both independently on certain projects, and closely with Managers and Directors on others, Sr. Analysts are expected to bring a creative and analytical skill set to solving strategic issues for eCommerce.

Importantly, this role is as much about strategy as execution - it is about moving from typical strategy decks to taking ownership and helping to drive implementation. We are looking for an Analyst who cares and is passionate about making recommendations a reality... a "practical strategist". As such, the work will also be heavily cross-functional - partnering with teams across the business to drive impact.

Accountabilities

* High level strategy development including working closely with the broader global eCommerce team (based in NYC) and with the Sales and Finance leads in the markets

* Granular strategic planning for key markets and customers - identify key unlocks required to accelerate

* Participation in "special projects" including developing business case for new platform / product innovations (e.g., B2B); developing operational strategies (e.g., Supply Chain, Drop-Ship)

* Incubation of new customers including building out the Biz Dev approach to best service and engage with new customer types and models in the eCommerce and digital space

* Elevating our eCommerce capabilities in key markets globally; bridging the between subject matter experts in our global eCommerce team and our regional eCommerce teams

Key Skills/Experience Required

* 2-4 years of management consulting experience with exposure to consumer/retail clients or experience in digital/eCommerce (preferred but not required) ... experience in start-up environment a big plus

* Able to work collaboratively with broader eCommerce team in NYC and markets (China, UK/Europe) ... experience driving cross-functional work-streams a plus

* Able to scope and plan analyses that will yield critical answers to key questions for driving growth

* Able to execute zero-defect analysis with minimal support; translation of findings into meaningful insights, integrating relevant business knowledge as well as learning from other projects/sources

* Confident in Excel and other quantitative tools for the analytical heavy lifting

* Able to communicate the implications of analysis to upper management clearly

* Confident leveraging PowerPoint to create an impactful, concise, and defect free slide loop

* Comfort in ambiguity as demonstrated by being able to adapt in less-structured environment
