The Store Leader is responsible for directing the efforts of the Store Associates to maintain Company standards of Store presentation and Customer service, while achieving Store goals for sales, profit and inventory control.

  • Store Profitability -  Store Leader must use the procedures and controls necessary to meet or exceed the sales, profit and shrink goals established for their Store.
  • Model for Customer Service - Store Leader must consistently demonstrate Customer Service and selling techniques as an example for all Associates.
  • Staff Selection - Store Leader must recruit, interview and hire Store Associates. This requires communication skills sufficient to follow the Interview Guide-Store Associate and interview structure. Store Leader must ensure candidates have skills and abilities required for the position.
  • Training and Associate Development - Store Leader must execute the Store Associate Training Program with each Store Associate, and implement and execute other skill development programs as directed.
  • Coaching and Counseling - Store Leader must provide coaching and counseling to all Associates to ensure effective job performance.
  • Scheduling - Store Leader must develop a weekly work schedule for Store Associates based on sales forecasts and other business demands.
  • Performance Evaluation - Store Leader must complete and present Associate performance
  • appraisals according to schedules outlined in Company procedures. Store Leader must recommend salary increases and promotions in accordance with Company guidelines.
  • Merchandise - Store Leader must be able to analyze, identify and communicate merchandise needs for his/her Store to the District Leader. Store Leader must be able to complete all merchandise processes described in the Store Associate position description.
  • POS Operation - Store Leader must be the Store expert on Cash Protection Procedures, POS transactions, and paperwork. These include, but are not limited to:
    • Ensuring that cash is kept in the proper locations in the Store, (e.g. safe, locked cash drawer, etc.) and that it does not exceed predetermined maximum limits.  Counting cash and preparing bank deposits.
    • Verifying these deposits against the records of the day's receipts.
    • Ensuring that deposits are made in a timely manner.
  • Administration - Store Leader must be the Store expert on completing Administrative tasks related to inventory control, personnel files, opening/closing, deposit records and other documents maintained on paper or generated electronically on a Store personal computer (PC).
  • Store Maintenance - Store Leader must be able to identify and report interior and exterior Store Maintenance issues to the District Leader.
  • Deposit Funds and Respond to Emergencies - Store Leader must be able to transport money to the bank and transport self to the Store to respond to emergencies (e.g., Associate doen't show up to open Store, burglary, deposit needs to be made, etc.).
