The Call Center/Alarm Monitoring Representative is responsible for monitoring Macy’s burglar/fire alarms and phone systems in a fast-paced, 24 hour environment.

The Call Center/Alarm Monitoring Representative is responsible for monitoring Macy’s burglar/fire alarms and phone systems in a fast-paced, 24 hour environment.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for monitoring Macys Burglar / Fire Alarms
- Responsible for dispatching Police and Fire authorities as well as Loss Prevention staff.
- Clerical duties related to alarm monitoring and communications
- Filing recall list
- Operation of computers
- Completing and printing journals
- Maintaining alarm records
- Completing records logs as assigned
Qualifications:
- Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent. Some college is desirable. A background in a call center environment is preferred, but not required. Must pass a criminal background check.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, reports, and manuals. Ability to communicate with peers, managers, general public, and sensitive customers. Ability to communicate over the phone, via e-mail, and memos with proper etiquette. Fluency in both English and Spanish is a plus.
- Mathematical Skills: Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Able to
use a calculator. - Reasoning Ability: Must be able to use good judgment and critical thinking skills when carrying out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
- Physical Demands: Extended periods of sitting are required. Some kneeling, stooping, crouching, or crawling may be required. Must be able to move and/or lift at least 10 lbs.
- Technical Skills: Must be able to effectively utilize available computer-based tools and software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Other Skills: Must be a highly motivated, detail oriented, well-organized, self-starter that possesses the ability to follow instructions and consistently act in a professional manner. Must work well in a team environment and have a flexible schedule due to our 24 hour environment.
