Lead RN Maternal Services

0.975 FTE Nights 7 p.m.-7 a.m., Fulltime benefit eligible

Moline campus

Ensures the daily organization of the department by helping to manage, coordinate, plan, and evaluate nursing procedures and personnel in the delivery of patient care, under the direction of the Nurse Manager.

Responsibilities

Functions as a house supervisor for the division, coordinating staffing between the Moline and Bettendorf campuses. Manages staffing and clinical issues as well as covering in staffing as needed in times of peak census and staff shortages. Also functions as the first assist for emergency Cesearian-sections in Bettendorf.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: Must be a graduate of accredited School of Nursing. Previous management experience preferred. Minimum of two years obstetrical nursing experience required. BSN preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & SKILLS: Considerable knowledge of the nursing care required for the care of obstetric patients, inclusive of the nursing process. Good knowledge of teaching learning theories. Ability to identify and determine priority of the patients' needs and is aware of impending emergencies. Ability to problem solve, plan, organize, and direct nursing activities. Must be able to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS: Current Registered Professional Nurse licensure in the State of Illinois. Registered Nursing licensure in the state of Iowa required within 3 months of hire date. Current CPR Certification required. Must obtain NRP certification and successfully complete a basic fetal monitoring class within 6 months of hire date within the maternal child division. Obstetric certification preferred.
