Job Description

The VP -- Portfolio Marketing Manager will lead the marketing strategy and program delivery across a number of portfolio relationships within the Corporate Vertical as part of the Specialty Merchants group. Specialty Merchants is a division within CRS comprised of key relationships across specialty retailers, auto and fuel businesses.

The incumbent is responsible for assisting in the development of short and long-term marketing strategies specific to their managed portfolios. This individual will serve as a primary day-to-day contact with Citi's Partner Management teams, internal cross-functional teams, as well as the Partner to drive new accounts and usage that will generate profitable sales for Citi and the Partner.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist in leading in the development of short and long-term strategic credit marketing plans to drive retail and credit sales growth for assigned Partners.

* Outline initial program strategy; provide marketing leadership to cross-functional teams and external agencies in order to successfully implement integrated marketing plans designed to optimize account acquisitions, drive profitable sales and improve card member usage and retention.

* Maintain oversight of marketing project lists and key deliverables of credit marketing initiatives across teams.

* Facilitate / lead strategic and tactical marketing discussions with Partners

* Create presentations and other documentation for both external Partner meetings as well as internal reviews.

* Develop and maintain portfolio marketing calendars

* Create and manage marketing budgets, including monthly forecast, and budget reconciliation.

* Collaborate with Centers of Excellence to determine proper inputs, including targeting criteria and impacted finance / risk variables, for campaign financials.

* Ensure all legal, compliance, and process activities are properly vetted and secured as part of program implementation.

* Collaborate with Decision Management to monitor / analyze campaign performance effectiveness as well as portfolio analytics and trends to recommend future campaign / testing strategies.

* Ensure program performance and recommendations are shared with Partners, and engage the Partner in strategic discussions regarding new initiatives, securing their buy-in.

* Identify and leverage best practices in the industry and across Citi Retail Services portfolios as well as Citi Cards.

* Leverage research and insights tools where appropriate to make smarter decisions.

* Initiate partner-focused marketing research studies and manages report outs to Partners.

* Share insights with Partners from mystery shopping, best practices, competitive intelligence, etc.

* Ensure Compliance to all Compliance & Regulatory Standards.

Business and Technical Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree

* 8 years of relevant marketing experience, private label / co-brand credit card experience preferred

* Track record of successfully managing complex marketing programs in a highly matrixed team environment

* Partner / client-facing experience

* Strong understanding of direct marketing principles

* Strong Attention to detail

* Knowledge of private label and/or co-brand credit card marketing programs and performance drivers; understanding of credit P&L

* Ability to analyze / interpret data and leverage that data to develop smart marketing strategies

* Experience leveraging multiple marketing channels to maximize ROI

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Good project management skills

* Strong Excel/PowerPoint skills
