The Orchard International Group dba The Orchard Hotel and The Orchard Garden Hotel is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Housekeeping Supervisor. This position will supervise and train room attendant, housemen and turndown attendant in the performance of housekeeping services. To ensure that housekeeping services are completed in a first-class manner. Is familiar with and complies with the Orchard Hotel and C.H.A.R.M standards and philosophy in performing all key areas of accountability and other essential duties and responsibilities.

Qualified candidates will possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Provide guests with professional, efficient, prompt and courteous service.
  • Supervise, monitor, educate and support housekeeping staff.
  • Maintain and ensure service standards are followed by all housekeeping staff
  • Assign daily tasks to housekeeping staff.
  • Create weekly schedules for staff if requested by Executive Housekeeper.
  • Coach and counsel employees as required in order to improve job performance.
  • Inspect and ensure all rooms have been assigned and cleaned each day.
  • Responsible for clear and effective communication between housekeeping and other departments.
  • Order supplies needed for housekeeping functions.
  • Responsible for monthly housekeeping inventory supply control.
  • Review weekly timesheets and OT.  Provide changes, room service tray pick-up sheets to HR
  • Adheres to key control policy and procedure according to set standards.
  • Manage training of all housekeeping staff.
  • Adhere to and promote all mission, vision statements and standards.  

Other Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Report all work orders to engineering throughout the day.
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner and report all accidents immediately regardless

of severity.

 

Managerial Duties: Directly manage staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning,assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree (A.A) or equivalent from two year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to operate all cleaning, laundry and kitchen equipment used in the department
  • Typing and Computer skills required
  • Associate's Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.  Ability to speak Chinese is a plus.
  • Understanding simple math skills. Add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
