The Manager of Business Finance (Children's Entertainment) will have the responsibility of planning (both high level and unit), forecasting, analysis, reporting and ensuring controls are in place for a specific category/categories within a specific business within the Sears or Kmart retail formats. This business routinely partners with the Business Unit CFO and leadership team in monitoring and addressing any issues related to the financial performance for their supported categories.
The Manager of Business Finance will have direct responsibility for financial planning and analysis for a specific business ranging in $400M to $600M in revenue.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
-Manages daily, weekly and monthly forecasting and reporting
-Reviews and diagnoses variances to plan, forecast and last year, working to ensure forecast accuracy
-Manages the annual strategic planning process in conjunction with corporate timelines
-Partners in business and line reviews with the working teams and senior management
-Partners in the markdown review and approval process
-Ensures corporate financial controls exist within the business
-Provides regular and ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed to help drive business results
-Works with the Business Unit Finance team in aligning on decisions and recommendations
-Acts as a liaison between other Finance departments and the merchant businesses
Job Requirements:
-Bachelors of Science in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
-Minimum of 5 to 10 years experience in Financial Planning, Forecasting, Strategic Business Decision Making or Analysis
-Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial calculations
-Strong decision making and problem solving skills based upon financial and statistical results
-Ability to interpret and communicate detailed quantitative data
-Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
-Excellent oral and written communication skills
-Excellent computer skills (Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Oracle Smartview)
Preferred Skills:
-Master's degree in related field
-CPA or CFA
