The Gideon Putnam is a historic destination located within Saratoga Spa State Park. Delaware North manages the hotel and dining services, as well as the famous Roosevelt Baths & Spa. 

The hotel boasts 124 rooms and 22 suites, all with views of park as well as 12,000-square feet of event space and a casual, on-site restaurant and bar, Putnam’s, serving creative cuisine inspired by the City of Saratoga Springs.

Position Details

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Front Desk Agent. This position is part-time and is perfect for those with excellent customer service skills who are interested in picking up a few additional shifts per week or simply wish to stay busy.

Responsibilities
  • Greets guests upon their arrival
  • Performs guest check-ins and check-outs, and dispenses room keys
  • Receives payments from guests for room accommodations
  • Processes/posts transactions associated with guest stays 
  • Coordinates with bell person for luggage transfers to rooms
  • Coordinates with housekeeping/maintenance for availability and readiness of rooms
  • Answers guest questions regarding facility and surrounding area
  • Acts as a sales member for promotion of internal events, dining, packages, and Spa
  • Forwards guest mail, packages and deliveries to appropriate rooms
  • Answers incoming phone calls; operates telephone system to receive incoming messages and records guest messages
  • Completes assigned check lists and projects for scheduled shift
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year prior experience in guest service capacity preferred
  • Excellent guest service skills; attentive and detail oriented
  • Ability to maintain a high energy level in a fast paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Effective communication skills; ability to communicate with guests and co-workers
  • Basic math skills; ability to accurately handle cash and process sales transactions
  • Previous experience with Microsoft office, e-mail required; computerized point of sale system preferred
