POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting the Manager, Building & Vehicles with building services for SJMCS administrative building and clinic locations, including utilities, cleaning, maintenance and security. Assist with administration of SJMCS vehicles, including maintenance, cleaning and record keeping. Provides SJMCS sites with handyman and courier services. Participates in health fairs or community events on weekends as requested 3-4 times a year. Assistant is required to be available to work one weekend a month if necessary, and provides support services as long as necessary during emergencies. Will rotate with other facility staff in providing on call staffing that responds to alarms, and other situations that require a response. Maintains department manual, checklists, and documentation. Assumes lead role with vendors, laborers, and Maintenance Worker I and Security Officer when Manager is not present.

Complies with SJMCS and SJHS policies and procedures, and supports the Mercy Philosophy.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High school education or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Three to four years of experience with similar duties and responsibilities. Requires driver's license with acceptable driving record. Some handy man skills; access to transportation, and ability to life heavy objects (See Working Conditions and Physical Requirements).

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must be familiar with general building service activities for office, clinic, rest room and kitchen areas. Must be generally familiar with building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services. Must have organizational skills to maintain files for supplies and building and vehicle service needs.
