The Department of General Internal Medicine & Geriatrics at Cleveland Clinic is seeking a board certified Internal Medicine physician to join as the Director of the Public Walk-In Clinic, integrated within our academic outpatient Internal Medicine (IM) practice at our main campus.

The Public Walk-in Clinic is an open access clinic where a wide array of acute and chronic medical conditions are treated. The walk-in clinic's mission is to serve the needs of adult patients within the practice, community, and visitors, providing timely access and acting as a safety net of care. The clinic provides complimentary and convenient healthcare for non-emergent acute and chronic medical conditions to act as a bridge to care within a medical home.

Core responsibilities for the Director include oversight of clinical flow, practice improvement, active strategic planning around innovative models of care and daily active collaboration with Advanced Practice Providers. Current clinic hours of operation are 8am to 5pm.

The clinic is integrated within our general IM practice, which was the first Joint Commission certified primary care medical home in the country. Our academic practice uses a fully integrated electronic health record, and is focused on quality improvement and innovation in care delivery. Team based care occurs with medical assistants, RNs, administrative assistants, integrated PharmDs, LISWs, RN care coordinators, and a Certified Diabetes Educator.

As part of our academic practice, numerous opportunities exist for teaching our medical students and residents from the largest IM residency in the country. Academic appointment within Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine is encouraged. Opportunities to participate on our inpatient teaching service and with a blend of primary care exist as well, according to interest.
