is looking for a key employee to join their administrative team in a Part-Time capacity,
 who likes phone work, scheduling, can manage various situations, and work independently.

Overview

The Home Instead Senior Care office in Salem, OR is a non-medical in-home care agency serving Marion, Polk, Linn, and Benton counties. We are on call 24/7 and are currently seeking someone to answer phones from the comfort of their home weekends, from Friday evening at 5pm, to Monday morning at 8am.  We are looking for a pleasant, detail-oriented person with a heart for accuracy. We are seeking someone with excellent oral and written communication skills, and current computer skills. This also may include holidays when the office is closed (paid at time and a half). Needs to be available to train in the office during the daytime office hours.


We are looking for someone who is professional, kind, caring, reliable, cheerful, and mature.
 
Primary Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • fielding calls from clients, their families or representatives, and caregivers
  • filling and scheduling needed shifts
  • accurately relaying messages to daytime admin staff, or following through with phone request
  • documenting conversations/events via email, software, and/or notes
  • online scheduling
  • emailing complete report of all phone activities to the office each Monday morning
  • handling phone issues in a calm manner and able to give clear-headed directions when emergencies arise
  • coordinating work issues (scheduling) with other staff
  • participating in office meetings and events as requested
​Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
  • has the compassion to treat and care for seniors, their families, and other employees with dignity and respect
  • has the training and experience to communicate in a friendly and congenial manner even when under pressure, or when dealing with difficult people and/or circumstances
  • has an aptitude for details
  • has the capability to multi-task
  • has the coordination and communication skills to work well with other staff doing the same job
  • can be a team player with all staff members
  • is at least 21 years of age
  • is a high school graduate or have GED
  • has at least one year scheduling or staffing experience
  • possesses a valid driver’s license and valid auto insurance
  • has a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook and Word
  • has the ability to learn new software quickly, and assimilate and/or institute changes in a timely manner
  • can complete & pass a drug screen test
Previous scheduling or staffing experience required.
 
​Compensation
Friday night - shift rate, $25/evening
Saturday & Sunday - shift rate, $75/per day
