Whelan Security is looking for a talented and driven leader to manage our Security Solutions Team in Washington, DC!

The Security Solutions Team Manager is responsible for assisting the site manager in ensuring a safe and secure workplace at the assigned site. The Security Solutions Team Manager provides leadership to various aspects of the Client's physical security program. Ensuring that client objectives are met, in compliance with established policies and procedures.

The Team Manager(s) are engaged in the implementation of specific security requirements per their functional areas, e.g. Guard Force, SSC/SST, PST, Technical Security, Operations etc.

In this capacity, the Team Manager will become actively engaged in all facets of the technical and operational requirements of the departments to ensure continuity of effort and quality assurance exists.

Additionally, the Team Manager is responsible for completing personnel performance assessments, tracking task assignment accomplishment, monitoring and enforcing operational accountability, implementing effective change-management processes and demonstrating dynamic leadership principles.

The Team Manager's primary focus is centered on risk reduction, employee safety, compliance and ethics, recognition, cost-effective initiatives and professional service. Team Manager reports to the Director, Strategic Accounts.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have at least 05+ years of relevant experience.

Nationally recognized certification desired, e.g.: ASIS-CPP, PSP, PMP, CEM

Candidates must demonstrate a stable work history and pass an extensive background screening which includes, but is not limited to, criminal background checks (local, state, and federal), drug test, aptitude tests, skills assessments, interviews, past employment verification, and a personality profile (behavioral assessment).

Education

Candidates must meet the following educational requirements:
  • Master's degree in Business, Economics, Communications, Security, Criminal Justice, Business, Emergency Management or related field and at least 3 years’ experience in a supervisory and/or management position
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Communications, Security, Criminal Justice, Business, Emergency Management or related field and at least 5 years’ experience in a supervisory and/or management position
  • Associate's degree in degree in Business, Economics, Communications, Security, Criminal Justice, Business, Emergency Management or related field and at least 1O years’ experience in a supervisory and/or management position
  • Nationally recognized certification desired, e.g.: ASIS-CPP, PSP, PMP, CEM
