Front End Manager - Full-time / Part-time

K-VA-T Food Stores is the parent company of Food City, a highly successful regional grocery retail operation, headquartered in the beautiful and historic town of Abingdon, VA. Food City is currently looking for experienced Front End Managers to join our Customer Service team at various store locations.

About the job:

Front End Managers work on our frontlines ensuring we are providing our customers with courteous service at all times. This position supervises cashiers and courtesy clerks while providing customers with various services in the front office. This person is responsible for knowing and enforcing all security and cash handling policy and procedures.

• Promote and maintain courteous service to customers at all times.
• Supervise and monitor the total functions of the front end.
• See that all cash, deposits, and pick-ups are properly handled.
• Cash and approve checks
• Promote use of ValuCard
• Monitor and enforce coupon handling procedures
• Promote and maintain good housekeeping

Qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Must be able to resolve differences through diplomatic means
• Flexibility in work hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Must have excellent problem-solving skills
• Must be able to lead by example to give Food City customers their best shopping experience
• Must be able to work effectively under strict deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work as part of a team and interact with various levels of company representatives, customers, and vendors
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks
• Ability to attend on-site work during normal business hours in the typical work week, as well as extra time as needed to fulfill job duties
