CNC Machinist - Full-time / Part-time

Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking a CNC Machinist for a 3+ month contract opportunity in Warminster, PA with our partner, a global leader in power and automation technologies.

Job Description

Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

• Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machine parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
• Plans stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed stock; placing and expediting orders for stock; verifying receipt of stock.
• Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
• Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to international standards.
• Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.

Basic Qualifications

• Two year degree or certificate from an accredited institution OR
• Minimum 5 years work experience as CNC operator
• Computer application knowledge (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Must be able to read and comprehend safety procedures, work instructions and drawings.
• Must have the ability to operate a computer and learn specialized programs as needed to perform job functions.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk on hard surfaces for up to 10 hours per day.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment machine testing given by testing provider.
• Employee may travel to factory location in Louisiana for additional training upon hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Two year degree in machining or 5+ years of machining experience
• Must be able to regularly pick up and manipulate up to 35 pounds safely.
• Experience with CNC horizontal machining centers and turning centers with Mazatrol Matrix and Mazak Matrix Smooth technology control systems.

Additional Information

• This is a 3+ month contract.
