POSITION SUMMARY:

The Supervisor role leads multiple departments within a distribution center. The Macon distribution center is responsible for both Retail shipping and Direct to Consumer operations. ?This leadership position is responsible for the timely, accurate and efficient processing of work flow through an assigned area. They will be largely focused on receiving, picking, packing and shipping warehousing functions within the Retail and DTC distribution environment. Qualified candidates will need to possess working knowledge of an automated warehouse system, achieve key process and operational cost improvements in accordance with established company policies and procedures and foster a safe team environment.

Job Duties:
  • Supervise up to 50 associates.
  • Achieve continual process improvement. Focus on accuracy, customer value proposition, order flow/processing schedules, inventory and expense management.
  • Differentiate performance by coaching, training and mentoring staff in an effort to continuously improve the effectiveness of the workforce. Utilize recognition and performance management to reinforce and affect behavior.
  • Write and administer annual Associate performance evaluations. Conduct regular career development and performance conversations.
  • Monitor and track labor productivity and key performance indicators. Improve performance verses prior year and plan objectives.
  • Eliminate non-value-added activities and inefficiencies. Be competent in decision making, risk management, and cost analysis.
  • Demonstrate strong judgment skills. (i.e. scheduling, expediting, planning and coaching.)
  • Strong knowledge of Warehouse Control/Order Management system (Manhattan Warehouse Management System). Utilize WCS to eliminate non-value-added activities and inefficiencies.
  • Promote safety leadership by protecting the health and welfare of the Company’s associates.
  • Able to lift 70 lbs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree with a concentration in a technical discipline (Industrial Engineering, Logistics or Operations Management) preferred or 10 plus years of related work experience.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in receiving, picking, packing and shipping warehouse functions within a Retail and DTC.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in distribution operations.
  • Promotes teamwork and works effectively within diversified teams.
  • Proficiency with warehouse and distribution management software is required. Experience with Manhattan Warehouse Management System preferred.
  • Experience with process improvement and driving change.
  • Ability to analyze forecasting and make well-supported recommendations.
  • Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Thorough understanding of policies and procedures relative to customer service.
  • Prioritizes customer satisfaction and displays a sense of urgency when responding to customer concerns.
  • Acquires knowledge of functional operations (order flow, 5S, receiving, warehouse, replenishment and expense management).
  • Works at a fast pace in a rapidly changing business environment.
  • Experience in communicating and addressing issues to senior management.
  • Career development and operational understanding will require Operations Supervisors to move laterally within the distribution network.
  • Continually expand on personal operational and supply chain knowledge via internal core skills training, professional affiliations, workshops and industry forums.
