DUI free for a minumum of 5 years, clean background check, no major speeding violations/no more than three moving violations within three years

 

Overview of position:

Diagnoses and repairs the full range of fleet equipment.  Typically focuses on the most complex work orders.  Fully proficient at fabricating and welding of all types of metal and methods required (mainly MIG welding). Provides training and direction to less experienced staff members. Responsible for maintaining shop/vehicle safety standards and meeting productivity requirements set by management.  Communicates mechanical/technical issues with internal and external customers as well as management.  May have obtained a Master ASE Certification.  Advanced shop experience on a variety of vehicles and equipment, both gasoline and diesel powered.

Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude towards other departments and maintain good relationships with co-workers.

Ability to be part of a team oriented shop in a fast-paced work environment.

Proficient use of all shop Technical Diagnostic Equipment.

Profient in all technician duties and has the ability to be self directed with diagnosis, operations and protocols

Has the ability to read and understand wiring diagrams

Understand and communicate all regulations related to shop operations; OHSA regulations, Hazard Communications Sheets, Hazmat regulations, and all shop and in grounds safety policies.

Understands current model year emission control devices and testing

Diagnosis and repair of all fleet Electrical and Driveability issues.

Perform repairs on all types of Equipment and ability to communicate information to Manager, Supervisors, and to co-workers regarding processes, and accept responsibilty for correctness of diagnostics and ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner with professional results.

Assist in the identification and prioritization of shop work tasks and communicate progress with all stakeholders.

Work within and outside of department to achieve mutual and company objectives.

Ability to provide proper diagnosis and repairs to equipment in an efficient manner to minimize downtime and expenses with the goal of assisting the department in maintaing the operating budget.

Participate in the development of self and co-workers by assisting with hands-on training,  and sharing prior work experience to help improve the operations of Fleet Maintenance and advance the skill sets of other employees.

Demonstrate the philosophies outlined in the Vail Resorts Employee Handbook pertaining to Employee, Customer, Guest, Co-workers, and Management relations.

 

Job Requirements:

High School. Some College/Automotive School/Training

8-10 years shop experience

Colorado Drivers License, ASE Certified

Provide own tool box with extensive set of hand tools and Automotive Testing Equipment.

Verifiable Advanced Automotive Job Skills and Experience
