Uncle Giuseppe's is looking for two Human Resources Coordinators to assist with daily HR functions. One Coordinator will work with the Port Jefferson and Smithtown stores, the other will cover our Massapequa and new Melville Store.

Job Summary

Responsible for administrative support of the HR Department.

Duties and Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

General:

• Process all new hire paperwork and entry into HRIS

• Responsible for maintenance and updating of all personnel info in HRIS including but not limited to I9, Tax Information, Salary Information, etc.

• Collect absence requests and enter Time off into HRIS

• Answer basic payroll inquiries

• Updating and maintaining employee files

• Process employee transfers and terminations

• Post available positions to career website and job boards

• Recruit and screen applicants

• Schedule applicant interviews

• Answer phones and emails

• Create letters for HR Department (Terminations, health insurance, etc.)

• Process all Workers Compensation Paperwork

• Process all Disability Paperwork

• Process all FMLA Paperwork

• Process employment verifications

• Process Uniform Orders

• Clerical Functions throughout office

• Perform other duties and assignments as directed

Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of age. High School Education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in Human Resources preferred.

Mathematical Skills:

• Be able to perform arithmetical calculations at the eighth-grade level in order to handle sales transactions, tender change, calculate percentages and ratios, discounts, gross margins, and apply concepts of basic algebra;

• Be able to verify vendor invoice charges and counts, and complete required accounting reports including inventory, receiving, and variations in cash or column totals.

Language Skills:

• Ability to hear, speak and understand the spoken word in order to respond promptly to pages for assistance, to accommodate verbal requests from customers for information or assistance, to answer telephones, and to be able to communicate effectively with department employees, the store’s co-workers and customers;

• Ability to read, write, analyze, interpret and understand the English language with sufficient proficiency in order to read and understand:1. Instructions for operating electronic equipment and tools,2. Company handbooks, policies and procedures, and 3. Other written job related documents including postings on company bulletin boards.

• Ability to fill out forms properly and compose and write reports, including effective departmental memos, employee corrective action notices, “menus”, and customer signs or sales suggestions.

Reasoning Ability:

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in circumstances where only limited standardization may exist;

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in diagram, oral, schedule, or written forms.

May require morning, afternoon, and evening availability any day of the week.
