About this job

75% Customer Facing -- Interact with our customers to understand, assess and problem solve their needs when machinery is down. Interact by phone to discuss potential solutions and/or send out a technician to handle solution on-site as needed.
15% Service Customers (in house and external)
10% Supervise up to 4 Field Service Engineers
We are an OEM and we need a leader and a technically strong Service Engineer to resolve problems.
Education or Work Requirements: Associates degree in electrical engineering or 5-10 years related work experience.
Knowledge Requirements:


Extensive knowledge of electrical components and theory, safety procedures and practices


Read and understand both mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics



PLC and CNC controls including G Code and/or ladder logic


Troubleshooting CNC machine tools/multi axis motion systems


High voltage (>1KV) power supplies


480 volt 3 phase circuits


High vacuum systems (10-5 m-bar), including diffusion, turbo molecular and cryogenic pumps


Solid mechanical aptitude of complex mechanical assemblies.



Ability to write and edit cohesive and accurate procedures; should be fluent in Microsoft Excel and Word

Maintain accurate records of projects including machine assembly, start up and installation

Physical Requirements:


Domestic and International travel (Travel is about 10%)


Ability to work overtime when needed


Able to lift up to 50 pounds


Climb and work utilizing ladders


Work in confined spaces


Utilize mechanical hand and power tools
