JOB SUMMARY

The Caseworker reports to the Center Manager/Casework Supervisor and will provide direct services to clients including individual case management and groups.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Maintain caseload of clients.
2. Make written case notes regarding client behavior, noting significant intervention and changes in accordance with contract requirements.
3. Assure that the clients understand and follow program rules and procedures.
4. Develop treatment plans for clients.
5. Provide individual and group counseling geared toward the client's specified goals and objectives.
6. Plan, organize, and implement special groups and seminars for residents.
7. Assist the clients in appropriate utilization of referral services.
8. Document progress and all services in the parolees file (including employment effort/status, case conference results).
9. Serve as a resource person with regard to education, training, and employment opportunities available in the community for clients.
10. Serve as backup staff as needed.
11. Thinks and acts quickly and efficiently in emergencies.
12. Comply with all Turning Point Safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to: workplace safety, reporting work related injuries, Infection Control and preventing potential safety risks for staff, clients and others.
13. Will drive on Agency business as needed.
14. Other duties as assigned by the Program Director.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. A Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences or a related field from an institution accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges AND One (1) year of related program experience. (Preferred) OR
2. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent; and three (3) years of full-time experience of counseling duties with a criminal justice population in a substance use disorder program; and obtain within six (6) months of hire an AOD Certification by an accredited certifying organization.
3. Must possess a drug and alcohol certification from an accredited certifying organization.
4. Ability to work effectively with program clients.
5. Current certified training in emergency first aid procedures and CPR.
6. Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
7. Ability to operate within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
8. Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a dependable means of transportation that is properly insured and operated in accordance with all laws. Agency insurer authorization is required.
9. Ability to pass a CDCR criminal records clearance check.
10. Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, general physical, and TB test.
11. Must maintain good relationships with consumers, co-workers, government and civic representatives, as well as community members within whom the Agency is transacting business, and relate to them in a professional manner.
