About this job

The HR Intern responds to directives from HR management to ensure compliance with employment requirements among all brands and locations; assists in the achievement of profitability/productivity requirements.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Answer questions and respond to requests from employees; direct employees to the best resources according to their needs.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance surrounding new hire onboarding, including I-9 form completion and verification of eligibility to work.
• Audit I-9 and E-Verify statuses.
• Maintain all HR systems, including but not limited to processes such as:
• Adding and terminating employees
• Updating personal and job information
• Generating reports
• Performing periodic audits of existing data
• Perform benefit administrative functions, including but not limited to:
o Generating eligibility reports
o Communicating enrollment process to eligible employees
o Enrolling employees according to each carrier’s needs
o UHC invoice monthly allocation assignments
o Managing Workers Compensation claims
• Follow current procedures and assist with development of new procedures to ensure a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
• Work with employees and management to gather and maintain proper documentation when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or higher
Experience in a professional environment

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Position requires qualified individuals to see, hear and speak (verbally and audibly). Required to ascend and descend stairs and ladders; sit, stand, lift, bend, stoop, crawl and kneel. The employee must also use hands to finger, handle or feel. Occasionally reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing are required. May be asked to drive or travel by car, air or other transportation for business purposes.
