*Demonstrate how to wire up a three phase multi-voltage motor for 277vac or 480vac

Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Knowledge/Skill Requirements/practical performance:

*Be able to attach a computer or terminal monitor to an on and off line PLC without disturbing the operating characteristics of the system. The proper port must be selected on the first attempt to attach

*Monitor the PLC operation by verifying selected Inputs and outputs. Determine the state of each I/O device. Determine if a rung contains true or false logic

*Determine the status of the output coil from the selected ladder logic. State the commands that would be used to force I/O on or off. Upload and download PLC operating programs

*Explain how to start and stop a PLC operating program, know what unit on the PLC system contains the operating system, be able to explain the 'examine on' and 'examine off' functions of a PLC

*Explain how to change the battery on the PLC without losing the program, how to troubleshoot inputs modules and output modules

*Explain the purpose of an Opto-coupler

*Explain the purpose of the fuse on the output module and explain why or why not the input module has or has not a fuse

*Explain the purposes of the LED indicators on the input/output modules

*Explain the steps necessary to change out a bad central process controller, a bad input module, a bad output module, a bad power supply

*Explain the purpose of the run switch on a PLC
