POSITION PURPOSE
The Visual Merchandiser will be directly responsible for the overall visual merchandising strategy of a department(s). This roles drives an integrated in-store experience on behalf of the brand, the customer and the business.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
40% Act as a subject matter expert to drive all components of a visual merchandising strategy including: applicable standards, product positioning, product packaging, visual communications and graphics, fixtures, macro / micro space allocation
30% Directs and manages Agency partners using processes and standards, to provide well thought through project vision, scope and direction.
10% Drives / influences cross-functional partners (eg. IPMs, planograms, agency support, vendors) to ensure speed and interconnected communication (eg. Marketing, .com, mobile).
10% Leverages customer insights, industry trends and retail best practices to drive creative and innovation solutions to business opportunities.
10% Attend line reviews, kick-off meetings, customer insights groups and category departments as needed to understand the product specific needs of the business.

Reports to Sr. Director In-Store Experience

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Environment:
Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust, fumes or odors.
Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 8 years

Physical Requirements:
Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).

Additional Qualifications:
Experience with a national multi-unit retailer or strong agency experience supporting a national multi-unit retailer with an emphasis on visual merchandising, visual communications, marketing, planograms, space planning.

Preferred Qualifications:
Creative packaging design
Graphic design
Visual merchandising design. Strong computer skills, particularly in design software and Excel
Demonstrated knowledge of Visual Merchandising and/or Store Planning experience Research and explore best practices in visual merchandising and is able to discern which competitive ideas are most effective
Ability to identify potential Visual Merchandising opportunities and provide creative solutions.
