About this job

POSITION PURPOSE

At The Home Depot Quote Center, we get UX; it’s baked into our DNA. We’re excited to expand the team as we drive new initiatives. As a new member of the UX team, you will work with designers and researchers to help discover and define the insights leading to end-to-end user experiences across HDQC’s external products and internal services.

You are passionate about people. You are excited about doing fundamental research: behavioral, contextual and/or other means of capturing information from your users. You have a background in social sciences (Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology, among others). Alternatively, you have a degree or experience in a design field (Industrial, Interaction, Architecture or the like). You are open to learning new methods of applied research and are excited to learn from great mentors on the team.

You are a great communicator: verbal, written and visual. You’re as likely to use a whiteboard as you are a remote video call. You enjoy engaging with new people, learning about their work, their interests, and goals. You can communicate your insights through work models, task analysis, journey maps and other tools of the trade.

You seek help from all sources: designers, engineers, analysts, and project managers—you enjoy collaboration. You are focused on learning as much as possible, not only about the users of Quote Center products and services, but about world-class UX processes and methods we use in-house.

As UX Researcher I, you are comfortable asking questions: questions about our users, our processes, and our work. You contribute to the UX discipline through discovery and presentations, through a willingness to learn and reflect on your learning.
