The Department of Dining Services is currently accepting applications for the position of Dining Assistant. The Dining Assistant provides timely and reliable support for the food preparation and stocking and cleaning functions of Swarthmore's dining/cafeteria services. The Dining Assistant will ensure the availability of clean and sanitary supplies of dishes, glassware, trays and utensils throughout each meal period; maintain and sanitize the dish machine; ensure a clean and sanitary dining service facility; provide food items to food lines, salad bars, condiment bars, dessert areas, and grill areas throughout the meal period; and ensure that beverage stations are filled with product and glassware throughout the meal period. The Dining Assistant must interact well with customers, co-workers and supervisors as well as work effectively, both independently and as a team member.
The position requires occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
Qualified candidates must possess high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years experience in customer service, service or closely related field. Candidate must be able to follow written and verbal instruction.
