The Market Asset & Profit Protection Manager (MMAP) provides disciplined leadership to the assigned Market for the purpose of supporting the National Asset & Profit Protection strategy. This position is responsible to staff, acclimate, and coach a team of exempt and non-exempt Asset & Profit Protection Managers at the Zone or Store Level. The MAPP works cross functionally with the Market Leader and Market Support positions to improve the overall profitability of the Market. Such efforts will focus on assessing key market/store performance, providing training to store level management and associates, determining solutions to problems and working collaboratively to implement solutions, leading all theft/fraud/safety investigative efforts, and ensuring consistent execution of Asset & Profit Protection programs and processes at the market/store level.
Provides day to day leadership of Asset & Profit Protection function for a Market of 25-30 stores. Leads a Team consisting of 7-10 Direct reports and 100+ In-Direct Reports. Responsible for managing total budget of $2 - $3.0MM.

Job Requirements:
  • Strong Leadership and Organizational Skills
  • Experience leading large teams across a wide geographic area. Demonstrated knowledge of assessing, selecting, and coaching associates to achieve strong metric performance preferably in a retail environment
  • Ability to build business plans collaboratively, gain commitment to actions, implement cross functionally, measure results, and influence change amongst multiple constituencies
  • Strong knowledge of operational processes, industry best-practices, financial acumen, and core Asset & Profit Protection processes( to include Environmental Health, Regulatory, and Safety)
  • Ability to analyze multiple sources of data, draw conclusions, identify broken processes/root causes, and develop efficient solutions cross functionally often in situations where the associates are not direct reports
  • Ability to form and maintain cross functional partnerships at the Store, Market, Regional, and Corporate level
  • Ability to utilize strategic thought process to drive proactive business solutions to emerging trends
  • Ability to provide long term planning in order to achieve annual financial and operational objectives
  • Strong technology skill set to include MS Office, Data Analytics, and Retail Applications
  • Effective oral and written communication skills. Proven ability to provide effective communication to a variety of audiences. Strong Presentation Skills to large audiences
  • Ability to influence and drive change in large scale organizations often where associates are not direct reports.


Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Owns Profit Improvement results for the Market through the execution of the 5 Play Strategy (Profit Improvement, Safety, Dishonesty, Team, and Innovation).
  • Provides leadership to a Team of Asset & Profit Protection Managers
  • Recruits, hires, and provides training for the Market's Asset & Profit Protection Field Team.
  • Acts as lead for all investigative processes relating to Profit Improvement within the market of responsibility.
  • Conducts analysis to identify key areas of opportunity that need to be addressed to drive Profit Improvement efforts.
  • Works collaboratively with the Market Team, Regional Leadership Team, and other key partners to implement plans to address areas of opportunity and leverage areas of strength.
  • Implements plans and action items to drive engagement of Asset Protection and Store Operations Teams to support achievement of business goals.
  • Shares best practices/opportunities with Regional Team and across Market to improve Regional Performance.
  • Ensures effective utilization of resources to achieve business goals.
  • Conducts store visits on a regular basis to understand business, engage associates, develop talent, and improve team performance.
  • Demonstrates courageous leadership be identifying and communicating potential ethical issues that must be addressed at the Store, Market, and Regional Level.
  • Be the advocate to ensure the Members and our Associates have a safe environment to shop and work in.
  • Protect our Members and Associates by taking an active role in the prevention of safety related incidents.
  • Provide a Wow Member Experience for external and internal members.
  • Integrate the Asset protection 5 Play Strategy within Store Operations.
  • Adapts own behaviors and communication to gain cooperation in situations where he/she has no direct authority.
  • Takes personal accountability for his/her own work and maintains high standards.
  • Collaborates effectively with Store Partners to achieve business goals.
  • Meets Asset Protection Goals and Objectives.
  • Acts with integrity in all situations.
  • Provides timely coaching to Team to ensure developmental growth.

  • Performs supervisory functions, including but not limited to, making employment decisions regarding hiring, promoting, demoting and terminating, conducting performance appraisals and coaching and developing associates.


Education Experience: Bachelor's Level Degree
Years of Related Experience: 5-10 Years
Travel Requirements : 75%
