The Opportunity

POSITION SUMMARY

Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and removing rubbish. Duties may include stripping linens from beds, removing linens from bathrooms, collecting dirty linens and transporting to laundry room, providing clean linens to housekeeping carts and closets, notifying management of need for repairs. Keep storage closets in clean and orderly condition and well stocked with necessary supplies.   

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Service, clean, or supply restrooms. 
  • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming. 
  • Gather and empty trash.  Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. 
  • Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees. Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems. 
  • Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties. 
  • Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors. 
  • Steam clean or shampoo carpets. 
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment, or supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks. 
  • Drive vans, industrial trucks, or other vehicles required to travel to or to perform cleaning work. 
  • Remove dirty linens from guest rooms and transport to the laundry room. 
  • Transport clean linens to housekeeping carts and storage closets. Keep closets stocked, clean and organized. 
  • Deliver cribs, rollways, additional amenities and any other item as requested by guest or QA.
