Summary of Job: The housekeeping team at Afton Alps is responsible for ensuring our guests have a clean and comfortable environment. The team executes this by ensuring all areas of Afton are clean and fully stocked. Assisting with any guest or employee problems to maintain a safe and clean environment. Dishwashers are a part of the housekeeping team, but also have the responsibility of cleaning all the dishes, glasses, silverware, and cooking supplies for kitchen operations. They need to operate the dishwashing machine or wash dishes by hand scrubbing and rinsing pots, dishes, and other elements used in a kitchen. A dishwasher must keep the dish room and dish machine in clean working order. Once the cleaning cycle is complete, dishwashers will unload the dishes placing them in designated areas to be reused again.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Ability to provide outstanding guest service.
  • Responsible for cleaning restrooms including toilets, sinks, counters, floors, etc.
  • Responsible for stocking restroom supplies including toilet paper, paper towels, soap, etc.
  • Trash and recycling pick-up, removal, and disposal inside and outside of buildings including patios and walkways.
  • Cleanliness of restaurants including vacuuming, cleaning, bussing tables, and assisting guests.
  • Ability to operate and maintain dish machines.
  • Ability to lift and place clean dishes, utensils, and/or cooking equipment in designated areas.
  • Maintain overall cleanliness of kitchen, kitchen equipment, and work area.
  • Stock supplies, such as food and/or utensils in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and grab n’ go areas.
  • Sort and clean organics, recycling, and trash receptacles placing color coded waste bags in designated pickup areas.
  • Transfer equipment from storage areas to work stations.
  • Maintain cleanliness of floors and walls.
  • Adhere to all policies, rules, and regulations of Vail Resorts and Afton Alps.
  • Create and maintain a productive and safe work environment, including the completion of all company mandated safety-related training and assessments.
  • Assist other departments, as needed.
  • Adhere to and role model the company’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Certified Slip Resistant shoes are required prior to starting work. Shoes must be provided by the employee.
  • Knowledge about common cleaning supplies.
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Professionalism and strong guest service skills, attention to detail and timeliness.
  • Flexible schedule required during peak times throughout the year.  Must be willing to work evenings, holidays and weekends – Required
  • High level of interpersonal skills to ensure: teamwork, high level guest contact, and service.
  • Must demonstrate ability to receive and give direction and act upon it.
